An ode to distant shores and the quiet feeling of having nowhere else to be. Inspired by island life, The Escape is an invitation to hold on to the warmth a little longer. Long, slow days, salt in the hair and silk that moves with the wind. Somewhere, summer continues.
THE LOCATION
Photographed by Olivia Bloch at .Here in the Maldives, starring Danish top model Kirstin Liljegren. Clear water, untouched sand and a slower rhythm. We wanted a place where the light does the work and the days blur gently into one another, so the pieces could be seen the way they are meant to be worn: barefoot, unhurried and far from everything else.
THE COLORS
Soft mint and deep bordeaux, developed in our Copenhagen studio and carefully refined to complement the textures and qualities of our signature silks and knits.
THE FABRIC
For The Escape, we chose 100% Grade 6A mulberry silk, sourced from a family-run mill in Turkey. Known for its fine texture and natural sheen, it is the only grade of silk we work with.
Alongside the silk, we selected Italian knits made from yarns dyed before knitting, giving the fabrics their depth of color and subtle shine. Each material was chosen for how it feels, falls, and moves with the body.
THE PROCESS
Long before the Maldives, The Escape lived in our studio, in swatches of mint and bordeaux, yarns laid side by side, and Hanne’s sketches slowly taking shape.
From selecting fabrics to developing each color from scratch, the collection gradually took form through countless small decisions. Once the designs were complete, we brought The Escape to the Maldives to capture the finished pieces in a setting that offered a natural contrast to the colors and textures we had been working with in the studio.
